After the Sun

One day's light followed all the way down, from the last sun on the rocks to a red flash in the dark. Cape Town.

Context
It was all shot in one place, on the granite rocks of Cape Town's Atlantic coast, following a single fall of light. The first frames are still in the sun. The last ones come long after, when nothing is left but the orange line on the horizon.
From there, the only light available is the light I bring. The flash takes over from the sun, in red, and the wardrobe follows the same movement: the black tailoring of the opening gives way to lace. The series holds entirely in that, a light going out and what you put in its place.

Paris in summer, Cape Town in winter. The seasons are reversed there: a Spring/Summer campaign is shot in January, in real summer light. For a brand producing in Europe, that is six months gained on the calendar.
